Christopher J. Spencer, D.D.S., Cert. Orofacial Pain

Dr. Christopher J. Spencer is an Associate Professor, Clinical in the Division of Diagnostic Sciences at Louisiana State University, School of Dentistry. He obtained his dental degree from the University of the Pacific in California in 1978. Dr. Spencer practiced in California for many years as a general dentist but in 2004 he moved to the University of Florida, College of Dentistry to begin the two year Craniofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Dysfunction Fellowship. After completing the fellowship, he was appointed the clinical director of the Parker E. Mahan Facial Pain Center at the College of Dentistry under Dr. Henry A. Gremillion. In 2015, Dr. Spencer moved to Louisiana State University Health Science Center to become part of an excellent diagnostic team in the School of Dentistry. Dr. Spencer has published a number of articles and textbook chapters on subjects such as the complex diagnosis of pain, trigeminal neuralgia, and management of TMDs. He also lectures and teaches in the area of diagnosing and management of chronic facial pain.
