Katherine Carmona, DDS, MS

Dr. Katherine Carmona is associate professor of periodontics and director of the Implant
Restorative Fellowship Program at LSUSD. She is actively involved in teaching both
postgraduate residents and dental students. Her clinical practice focuses on periodontal therapy, implant dentistry, and regenerative procedures aimed at restoring
oral health and esthetics. She is a board-certified periodontist and diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
She obtained her DDS from the Universidad de Valparaiso School of Dentistry in Chile
in 2013. She then completed internships with the Chilean Navy and Air Force and developed
an early interest in digital technologies and esthetic dentistry. After practicing
as a general dentist in private practice for several years, Dr. Carmona pursued advanced
specialty training in periodontics at Andrés Bello University in Chile.
In 2020 Dr. Carmona completed a two-year Implant Restorative Fellowship in the LSUSD
Department of Periodontics, followed by a three-year master of science program with
a certificate in periodontics.
