Description:  Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry seeks to fill a full-time tenure-track position of Department Chair in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Candidates should have a proven record of administrative experience that includes education, research, clinical care and public service. The applicant’s beliefs and goals should be in sync with those of the LSUHSC School of Dentistry and the Health Sciences Center. The Chair is responsible for the academic, clinical and administrative functions of the department and reports to the Dean of the School of Dentistry.

The chair is responsible for the quality of all departmental programs, supports improvements and innovation in teaching, and supports faculty and student efforts in research, public service and clinical care. This person is also responsible for the fiscal well-being of the department, alumni relations and fundraising.

The department has didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities in the undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs both on- and off-site, including local hospitals. Participation in research and scholarly activities is expected. Intramural dental faculty practice is available. Teaching experience is preferred; DDS /DMD or equivalent is required. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates must have completed advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry and be eligible for a regular dental license or limited license in the state of Louisiana. Board certification is preferred.
