The first
appointment consists
of an oral health
assessment, which
includes blood work,
x-rays and an oral
exam. LSUSD faculty
will then review
a patient's record
to determine if students
are able to provide
the oral health care
required and/or if
the treatment offers
students the appropriate
learning opportunities.
Please remember that
the School of Dentistry's
primary mission is
education.
The initial appointment
fee can range from
$50-$80 and can be
paid by cash, personal
check, VISA or MASTERCARD.
No dental treatment
is provided during
this examination.
Children age 13 and
under can be seen
in the Pediatric
Dentistry Clinic.
For a screening appointment
call (504) 941-8201 (age 0-6) or 941-8196 (age 7-13).
Minors age 14-17
are treated in the
adult clinics by
appointment and must
be accompanied by
a parent or legal
guardian for each
appointment.
The following information
is required on the
first appointment:
- physician's name,
phone number
and address;
- Social Security
number;
- list of any
medications
patient is taking.
