In the past ten years, the LSUHSC School of Dentistry (LSUSD) has established satellite dental clinics statewide to address the oral health disparities that exit in the underserved areas of Louisiana. The clinics are located at the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic in Lafayette, and the Huey P. Long Hospital at England Airpark in Alexandria. LSUSD students and residents provide the dental care. Payment options vary from Medicaid, free care, to a sliding scale for the working poor.
