OVERVIEW
The Program in Endodontics is a 24 month offering which begins in July of each year. It is designed to offer advanced education to an individual committed to the practice, teaching, or research in endodontics. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the student will receive a certificate in endodontics. The graduate will possess the necessary credentials to be declared "board eligible" by the American Board of Endodontics.

The student will spend approximately 60 percent of the assigned time in clinical practice and the remaining in basic and clinical science lectures, research and seminars. Clinical experience will include the complete scope of endodontic practice. Medically compromised, as well as healthy, patients are treated under appropriate supervision. The range of treatment includes: emergency and diagnostic treatment; nonsurgical and surgical therapy; microscopic endodontics; vital and non-vital bleaching procedures; intentional replants; and root extrusion techniques.  Treatment of 300 cases is required for graduation.  Completion of an original research project is a requirement for graduation.
