How to Give
Year-End Giving Deadlines
We thank you for your support and remind you of these important dates for year-end giving:
The IRS requires evidence that donors have relinquished possession of their gifts on or before December 31. If you mail your gift, the envelope must also be postmarked before the end of the year.
Credit card gifts
Credit card gifts must be completed before midnight on December 31 through the LSUSD website (www.lsusd.lsuhsc.edu), or in person/by phone before 5 p.m. on December 22 as the campus closes until after the holidays.
IRA or Stock Gifts
Please call (504) 313-0394 before December 31 for information.
Contribute online through the secure LSUHSC Foundation website—Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards are accepted.
In the dropdown "designation" menu, choose the appropriate fund for your contribution.
Gifts by credit card or check can also be mailed.
Make checks payable to the LSUHSC Foundation. Mail your gift to:
LSUHSC School of Dentistry
1100 Florida Avenue, Box 143
New Orleans, LA 70119
For gifts by credit card, you may also call (504) 941-8120 or (504) 568-3712 to contribute by phone. This may be important for year-end gifts, i.e., tax considerations.
Gifts of stocks and other securities are accepted. Click
here for stock transfer instructions.
Gifts through individual estate plans are very much appreciated. Useful vehicles for estate commitments include wills, charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies and retirement fund assets. Visit the LSUHSC Planned Giving Site for more information.
Corporate and State Matching Gifts
Many companies match employees' gifts to educational institutions. Contact your employer for details and restrictions. Click here for more information.
The State of Louisiana also provides generous matching gifts for endowed professorships and chairs.
Memorial or Honorarium Gifts
A gift in memory of a friend or loved one or in honor of a birthday, anniversary or an important milestone is a wonderful way to pay tribute to those whom we hold dear. In addition to a one-time gift, one may choose to establish an endowed memorial or honorary fund to pay tribute to an individual in perpetuity.
