Stat!Ref: Medical information at your fingertips
Stat!Ref, a collection of over 30 full-text medical reference books, includes sources on topics such as drugs, nursing, geriatrics, family medicine, and medical specialties.
Stat!Ref has, among others, AHFS Drug Information, Cassel's Geriatric Medicine, Degowin's Diagnostic Examination, Fitzpatrick's Color Atlas & Synopsis of Clinical Dermatology, Griffith's Five-Minute Clinical Consult, Merck Manual, Review of Natural Products, and USP DI Drug Information for the Health Care Professional.

When looking for information in Stat!Ref,  you may search in one, all, or multiple works.  You can use natural language or keywords with Boolean operators, or you can scan the table of contents of individual works. Help icons appear throughout the database.  Because LSUHSC has access to Stat!Ref through a consortial agreement with Oklahoma Health Sciences Libraries, it is  available only from PCs on the LSUHSC network.

Exporting citations in Ovid
The latest version of Ovid allows searchers to export citations directly into a bibliographic  database.  If you are using EndNote, Reference Manager, or ProCite to organize your bibliographies, you can now run a search in Ovid and directly export citations into the database.  To do so, after you run your search in Ovid and select the citations that you want to save, scroll to "Citation Manager" at the bottom of any screen, select the desired set of citations, and then select the following in the remaining boxes:

Fields: Complete reference
Citation format:   Direct export.  Do not check "include search history"
Action:  Save

When the file download window appears, click on open.

In the "Open with" window, select your bibliographic organization software. When this program opens, make sure that the file format is OvidWeb, then select the target database and click on transfer. Your citations will download into the database.
