Gifts to the Library
Quintessence Publishing Company has added three new journals to the list of titles that it contributes free to our library.  These journals, Oral Biosciences & Medicine, Oral Health & Preventive Dentistry, and Perio: Periodontal Practice Today, are published quarterly and are refereed.  With the addition of these titles, we now receive 14 journals from Quintessence, plus all of their monographs.

With funds awarded by the LSUHSC Faculty Wives Club, the dental library purchased the 2004 Dental and Dental Hygiene Decks.  These popular study aids for national board exams are on reserve and restricted to use in the library.  The previous edition of the decks may circulate for overnight use.

The F. Harold Wirth Study Club has bought the library Frequently Asked Legal Questions: A Guide for Dentists and the Dental Team by the American Dental Association Division of Legal Affairs.  Because of its looseleaf format, this publication is shelved at the circulation desk in the Reference Reserve collection.  The book addresses issues confronting the dental practice, such as dental practice arrangements, avoiding employee lawsuits, insurance issues, HIPAA, OSHA, and contracts.
