Patient Information

The LSUHSC School of Dentistry Clinic in Baton Rouge is located in the LSU Hospital Surgical Facility at 9032 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge. Only LSUSD General Practice residents (GPR) see patients at this 13-chair clinic, which is in a modern facility with individual patient rooms. The dentistry residents, affiliated with LSU Hospital Earl K. Long Medical Center, work alongside other LSUHSC residents in dermatology, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology (ENT), among others.

While focusing on the underserved population of the greater Baton Rouge area, the GPR clinic staff strives to serve all of Louisiana by providing dental care to special needs patients, medically compromised patients, and those patients requiring general anesthesia or anxiety management through oral sedation or intravenous sedation dentistry.

Patient Information

New patients are accepted by faxed referral only from a current dentist or primary care physician.  Please note that referrals are screened by staff dentists and scheduled in the order they are received (except for emergencies) and we ask you to wait 5-7 days before calling to check on a referral.

The dental clinic is open all year, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.--3:30 p.m. except for scheduled school holidays.

Patients are treated by appointment only. Due to the number of patients treated and the nature of the resident clinic, there may be a waiting period. Patients arriving later than 15 minutes without prior notification may be rescheduled at the clinic director’s discretion.

In the event of a dental emergency during non-clinic hours, please contact our answering service at 504-456-5322. Only patients of record are eligible for emergency care.
